There are already many checkboxes on comment form, such as cookie agreement and privacy policy agreement.

Changing subscription icon buttons to simple checkbox will make it very ugly. This change maybe added as an option in future releases but it’ll not be changed by default.

I need a custom solution just for us. We don’t use any checkboxes at the moment, so we could easily use the custom checkbox

I’m sorry but we don’t provide any custom solution yet. I’m sure the answer will be negative. We don’t have plugin customization or other custom development services yet.
