Change of general settings now prevents log-in

Hi,

1. FTP to the site, and get a copy of the active theme’s functions.php file. You’re going to edit it in a simple text editor (like notepad) and upload it back to the site.

2. Add these two lines to the file, immediately after the initial “<?php” line.

update_option(‘siteurl’,’https://example.com/blog&#8217;);
update_option(‘home’,’https://example.com/blog&#8217;);

Use your new URL instead of example.com, obviously.

Thanks for replying. This site was something I was just getting back to. Hence, I don’t recall which theme it uses and in the directory there are functions.php for twenty-<***> and Amazing Grace themes. There is also one for the default/functions.php. Do I make changes to the default one? Or can I assume that Amazing Grace/functions.php is the one, as opposed to the twenty-* themes?

I checked dates to see if they would provide an obvious clue. They don’t.
