Change Password not working

I have some user accounts that I have created on the admin screen, the system generates a password that is then emailed to the user. When the user goes to the my-profile page, the option is there to change the password.

When the system generated password is copied into the Old Password field, and the user creates matching passwords in the new password fields and submits, an error message pops up that says the Old Password is Not Correct.

Please advise.
