    Hiya

    I have a site with Ultimate member fully integrated in. Everything is working fine but we have noticed a bug with the change password function from the user dashboard.

    I have since set up a blank WP site, installed the latest Ultimate Member 2.2.5 and no other plugins, running the 2021 theme. Created the necessary pages and a user account. This all works. When you login y9u are presented with the user profile page and the ability to change the password. Upon entering the correct current password and a new password, the site logs you out. However, when you go to log back in using the new password it does not work; the old one still does though. This is the same issue as we are experiencing on the real life, live site.

    I have tried to use the demo.ultimatemember.com to replicate this issue but it is not sending any emails out on registering / forgotten password and my account is not approved, so cannot login.

    Could someone please get back to me with if this is a known bug and if it can be replicated.

    Many thanks
    Tom

    Is your network connection https:// or https:// without or with SSL?

    @tomjenx

    My theory:

    Your site needs an update to your .htaccess file.
    Entering your site with https:// must redirect all browsers to https:// and using SSL.

    Update also your live site with https:// references, you have 10 https:// left in the HTML source and many links without https:// in the menu except “Order Online”.

    When WP is trying to relogin from your UM account password change there is an issue regarding network security for Chrome 94. There are several security updates in this Chrome version released last week in September and you are now being disconnected by Chrome.

    With the UM account reset password there is no relogin required and there is no issue at all.

    Ask your web hosting about support for the .htaccess file update.

    With the WP site you can use the “Really Simple SSL” plugin to make the necessary updates to the .htaccess file

    Good morning

    The production site is on a SSL and all links already get redirected to that. The local site is not on an SSL but both sites suffer the exact same issue.

    Update also your live site with https:// references, you have 10 https:// left in the HTML source and many links without https:// in the menu except “Order Online”.

    I’m not sure what site / URL you mean or are looking at? I haven’t given you our live site, so not sure how you have seen the source. Looking at the site, which I am happy to supply you, there is no Order Online within the menu?

    @tomjenx

    OK I looked at wrong site then.

    Did you install the “Really Simple SSL” plugin?
    The SSL installation seems to be your issue.

    If that is the case, why does the local environment, which does not use SSL also have the same issue?

    @tomjenx

    Because from the version 94 Chrome tries to load all sites over HTTPS.
    When this fails there should be a warning page.
