We have a WordPress MU install that uses subdirectories instead of subdomain.

    https://domain.com/blogs is the ROOT
https://domain.com/blogs/alps is the site I want to change
https://domain.com/blogs/alpsprogram is the NEW URL we want it to be

If we change the URL, we get a “Not Found” error. I checked the the database and it shows the right path and matches what we changed the path to. I checked both siteURL and Home.

Now, I can’t access from the old URL or the new one, even if I changed the path back.

Not sure what to do next. Everything I can find is moving or renaming the whole WordPress installation.

  • Hey there!

I believe the issue is that the new path you entered doesn’t have the necessary the / at the end of it.

Go back to the path settings by clicking on edit site and look at the path.

More than likely, you have /alpsprogram set as the path. This won’t work. You need it set as:

    /alpsprogram/

Go back and edit the site to be /alpsprogram/ and let me know how that goes.

That was exactly the issue. Thanks so much for the answer. Glad it was something so simple. Can’t believe I didn’t come across that while searching.

Awesome, very happy to hear it. Sometimes it can be the smallest of details. Have a great day! ??
