Change path of 2nd site

I’m testing a network installation of WP on XAMPP (localhost). I had WP with one site working under a “localhost/wordpress/” directory. I’ve enabled multisite and added the 2nd site “test”, and it got the address “localhost/wordpress/test/” – it was working just fine.

However, I want my 2nd site to appear to be under “localhost/test/”. How do I do this? Changing the path under network admin didn’t work – tried that already.

By the way, my wordpress cannot be moved to root for many reasons. I’d appreciate any ideas and advice I can get. Thanks,
