Change “Please choose an option” text

    Hello,

    We’re using Polylang on a website and have a form in French and English but for two of the dropdown fields, I’ve enabled the “include_blank” feature which brings up the text “Please choose an option”.

    Is there a way to have a French phrase display on the French form? (I’m fine with keeping “Please choose an option” on the English side (https://apneesante.com/en/check-your-insurance-coverage/)

    The locale setting for the form on the “verifiez-votre-couverture-dassurance” page is en_US (English) so the message is displayed in English. If you create a contact form in French, it will display a French message.

    Following the instructions you sent, I switched the user admin language to French (or rather, French Canadian, which is the language pack we use on the French side) but I’m still getting the “Please choose an option” message in English when I created a new form on a test page (I uploaded a screenshot here: https://i.postimg.cc/mgkmcP99/example-Please-choose-an-option.png )

    I think it’s because Fr_CA language pack is missing the phrase “Please choose an option”, so I wanted to ask, where can I locate the translation files (like contact-form-7-fr_CA.po) in the CF7 plugin folder?

    I’ve downloaded the PO/MO files for French (Canadian) language pack here: https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/contact-form-7/language-packs/ and I’m planning to try to edit it, then will replace the file in my wordpress install

    Edit: Sorry! ignore my last message, I located the PO files here: wp-content/languages/plugins/

    So for that issue, it seems to be good now, but I have one last question: is it possible to change the language for a pre-existing form? (instead of switching my user admin to French + recreating the French insurance form?)

    No, it is not possible. I don’t think it is necessary, at least for now.
