• You know how in WP 1.5, each page/post is ?page_id=30 and the number at the end is the number of that page/post? Is there any way to change the number? For example, I have a page 60 and a page 62, but no 61 (I deleted it)… is there any way to make 62 become 61??

  • you can go into the database and change it in there, but I don’t think it’s really worth it.

would it mess up my page/post count? like on my menu it says how many pages/posts i’ve written, but would that number be off and say 62 bc that’s the highest number, or would it say 61 bc there really is only 61?

i don’t believe that it’ll mess anything up other than permalinks that people may have. just be sure to first backup everything in case though.

The post count is an actual count, it is not reflecting the id number. I have 99 posts, but I am on 163.
