change posted on text?

    After much searching, I found that decode_posted_on is defined in inc/extras.php but after making the appropriate changes and adding it to my Child theme, it’s not working. I wonder if this is an extension of funtions.php and therefore loads before the parent theme and is thus overridden?
    If that is the case, then please, how can I change the ‘posted on’ text?

    Sorry, premature questioning.

    Solution: put the code into my child’s functions.php – works just fine, thanks to courteous coding of Decode.

    (I had created a inc/extras.php file in my child theme. That’s why it wasn’t working for me.)

    It’s been a long day. <sigh>
