Change product image without selecting other attributes

I have already explained this to you before. It is Woocommerce default feature you need to select all variations then the image will change.

Our plugin just changes dropdown options to button/ color swatches

Yes, check here one combination is selected so if you change the color other 2 attributes are selected so it changes. You can set a default variation it will work on your site
