Change slug and search and replace?
-
Hi, I am new to the redirection plugin. I have some really long slugs and want to shorten some of them in my blog. I also have lot of links embedded throughout many other posts and would like to do a search and replace. For example, I want to change the slug on this url:
(A) https://olivesfordinner.com/double-dredged-tofu-with-gochujang-glaze-a-giveaway-from-chung-jung-one/
to
(B) https://olivesfordinner.com/double-dredged-tofu-with-gochujang-glaze/
To do this, I:
- I change/shorten the slug (A) in quick edit in the post
- I go to the redirection plugin. In source url, I enter: ^/double-dredged-tofu-with-gochujang-glaze-a-giveaway-from-chung-jung-one/
- In target url, I enter https://olivesfordinner.com/double-dredged-tofu-with-gochujang-glaze/
- Query parameters are “exact match in any order”
- Ignore case, ignore slash and regex are all checked.
- The redirection is successful and redirects when internal links are clicked on, but I want internal links to all be changed from (A) to (B) as well.
Is there a way to do this or a way to think of this differently? I have about 500 posts in my blog, so manually finding and replacing them would be a really impossible task.
