    I need to change this text for non-logged in users to something else. The text I wish to change is –
    “You have to be a registered user and logged in to play in this pool.”

    Best way without changing the code of the plugin, is to create a custom translation and place it in the /wp-content/languages/football-pool folder (create it first, if it does not exist). You will only have to add a translation for the texts that you want to change.

    In the following zip, you will find a .po file that you can edit with Poedit. After saving (which will create a compiled .mo file) you can copy the files to the aforementioned folder. Make sure that the file name contains the correct language code for the language that you have enabled in your WP install. The zip file contains files for American English (en_US).
