I just updated the plugin and now I’m getting this on my site:

Can you provide the PHP version on your server?

It seems PHP safe_mode is on. If so update your php.ini or login to your server plesk/cpanel > php settings and set the value for safe_mode to off.

This feature has been deprecated since PHP 5.3. If you are still on PHP 5.2 contact your hosting company and ask them to upgrade your PHP. Read this article on why not to use PHP 5.2 or any version that has reached its end of life.

If safe_mode is already off look for open_basedir and see if anything is out of the ordinary there.

Do you have a way to download the old version of the plugin. I updated to PHP 5.5 and deactivated all of my plugins and Big Mail Chimp still wouldn’t work. Do you have a link to the previous version? Thanks!

I’m using PHP 5.5.6 CGI on a Media Temple Grid Server. The MT support said these sort of open_basedir issues don’t happen with this version PHP. The safe mode is set to off too.

I’m installing the old version since I have a number of different forms on my site.

It was an issue with open_basedir. The bug has been fixed. Can you please upgrade to v2.0.1 and let me know how it goes.
