    Hello.

I have a site written in greek language and i made a translation in english using polylang.

But when i load the site it displays first the home page in english. How can i put the greek language as a default?

When i first made the configuration of the plugin i selected the greek language and after that the english one. Does it make any difference?

Don’t tell me i must do the translation again.

    Hi

See the steps in this topic: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/force-home-page-language?replies=5

    Does it work now?

But then, doesn’t everyone know how to clear the cache and cookies.

See an example for Chromium: https://www.wikihow.com/Clear-the-Cache-in-Chrome

Don’t forget to check the cookies too.

    I don’t mean this.

Me and you (we are familiar with this things) can empty the cache and cookies.

    Someone who is not familiar?

And some changes i’ve made on the greek version, don’t display on the english (e.g. i erased the names of the pages and the categories on the portfolio on home page).

Visitors don’t need to clear the browser datas. It’s for you to make your tests.
I specified in the link that I gave you that:

1)2) In this configuration, at the first visit your visitors will be redirected according the default language of your site (Nederlands).
At the second visit, your visitors will be redirected to the home page in their last browsed language either Nederlands or English.

Ok for this. For the other problems that i mentioned?

Some changes i’ve made on the greek version, don’t display on the english (e.g. i erased the names of the pages and the categories on the portfolio on home page).

    Any help?

If you make some changes on the Greek content (posts, pages …) you need also to modify its English translation.
If I misunderstood your problem, please provide some screen shots.

On the first image you see that two portfolio items are missing (on the right corner) although i attached them to categories and i put them in the portfolio section of the home page.

At the second image, on the upper left corner it displays the title of the page – in greek version no (i used a plugin called “hide title” – maybe i should erase my options and do again the configuration on both greek and english pages?).

    1) Does it work by deactivating this “hide title” plugin?

    2) Deactivate your other plugins, then test if it works with only your theme + Polylang + your portfolio plugin (if it not integrated in your theme).

1)It is ok – i did it via code in the style.css

2)The portfolio is integrated in my theme (Iva theme). Any ideas?

Sorry I didn’t understand your answer. Does it work without this plugin?

    Yes.
