    Hello there.

I was just trying to figure out if I can change the HTML element used in the FAQ questions and answers. I want to replace the tag with <h3>. So, is there any possible way we could change it?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best regards.
    Alok

  • Hi Alok,

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, it’s not possible to change the HTML for the FAQ block questions. At this time, it’s only possible to use CSS to change the way the text appears.

We have an existing feature request to add support for headings, so you’re welcome to comment or follow the progress of the issue on GitHub here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/11802.

Thank you for your response, @priscillamc.

I am trying to add a custom FAQ fields for category and tags. Is it possible to add the FAQ schema into the structured data and calculate the strength?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

The FAQ blocks only work with the Gutenberg editor. At this time the category and tag pages use the Classic editor layout.

The only workaround is to develop on the Yoast plugin to force Yoast to output the schema on those pages. You would need to use the developer documentation here to https://developer.yoast.com/features/schema/api/#output-for-a-specific-block to create the custom code needed to accomplish that.

Unfortunately, there’s a difference between the support we can offer and the level of programming needed to change (core) features of our plugin. Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. And even though we cannot be of any assistance, you’re completely free to change anything in the plugin to better suit your needs.

We highly recommend checking out?our list of Yoast Partners here https://yoast.com/yoast-partners/ in case you are in need of development.

We will also keep this issue open for 2 weeks in case someone from the community can help. Perhaps a developer watching these forums can assist further. After which, we will close in order to keep the overview.
