Change the image url
-
Hi Good People,
I love your plugin and I am inspired to do more…
How can I change the main image url to a new (keep filename)
I did read this topic but I can not figure out the solution: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/possible-to-serve-different-featured-image-to-merchant-center-than-in-shop/
So I want to replace all urls of my main images from /wp-content/xxx.xxx-xxx/year/mont/<filename.jpg> to
/image/<filename.jpg>
(And is there a way to also include variants or is that implicit?)
Thanks a million for helping out!

Hi Netz,
Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.
You should be able to change your image URL’s by creating a find and replace rule. Try out this one: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/v0i1td6mvcl5wp5h89ly7/Screenshot-2023-10-16-at-12.11.53.png?rlkey=xmwxxun8792wstv3090fzqta0&dl=0
Hope this helps?
Hi Nice People.
Thanks for quick reply – It was a success… But only on the 1. first rule?
Is the free version limited to only one rule
(I have like 9-10 urls I need to “manipulate”?)
All ending in the same target dir /images (maybe it could be a list separated with commas?)
I did try to refresh feed and browser cache.I also have some SKU numbers I want to exclude (8-10) That is working fine!
But somehow the feed includes products that are set to: “Don’t show in Catalog” ?? ??Can’t wait to hear from you again…
Stay codingNetz
The rule you created, I assume, is a general rule that goes for all products that have a same image link structure, correct? In that case the single rule should work for all your products.
When this is not the case than most likely their image link structure is not the same.
Can you share the following with us:
- The product feed URL;
- The plugin debug.log URL. This is how you can retrieve the debug.log URL: https://adtribes.io/send-your-debug-log-to-support/
- A screenshot of the rules you created
- The product ID’s of the products you have expected the product image URL’s to have changed for but did not.
Hi Support-People!
Cool…
Here it goes:2: https://herbalcenter.dk/staggy1023/wp-content/uploads/woo-product-feed-pro/logs/debug.log
3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zE7KJje8TXGkuJy69Q-dPQuFoBfTRqFH/view?usp=drivesdk
This first after the filters “Find & Replace” worked (wp-content/uploads/2015/06/) the rest of the Rules didn’t
All the products exclusions worked fine
Thanks a million magic people!
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I had a look at your feed and it appears it is empty, there are no products in it. See: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/br5kgbp49fbs9xlxp0l18/Screenshot-2023-10-17-at-12.15.26.png?rlkey=7ekk8htu08s5i92tb81k54ske&dl=0
So there is probably a mistake in your filters which results in all products being excluded from your feed.
I also tried opening your debug.log URL however it seems I am not allowed to open it, see: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ghm1m0hz6lkyoc9ltqq2d/Screenshot-2023-10-17-at-12.13.26.png?rlkey=ub53r8q22m01rpy66svkdj98g&dl=0
Can you open that up for our IP-address?
Hi
wow — Impressed I am.
I added your IP to the Firewall – You should be welcome in now!
Sorry for that – I didn’t realize that the Firewall worked also on a “STAG” ??
I did have some “go” for getting the filters for excluding products to work.
I had to refresh the page and the “refresh feed” a lot …Best regards
NetzWhen I click the feed url – It’s full ??? (maybe firewall like me) ??
Try clearing the caching of your browser or add some parameters to the URL so it shows a non-cached version of your feed. For example: https://herbalcenter.dk/staggy1023/wp-content/uploads/woo-product-feed-pro/xml/Jsfezlax9mtuPFtrSv0iaTgpnJv3ABDT.xml?asdasdas=123aaaaa
As you can see your feed is empty.
I also noticed that you have enabled the “preview” feature of the plugin. The preview feature will result in the feed only showing 5 products. When you combine that with the fact you are excluding a lot of products the feed could easily result in an empty feed. Can you please disable the preview option?
Cached cleared and “preview” is off ??
Hi Magic Support!
Maybe it was your fantastic support and willingness to help or something like that (Good karma) – I will rate you 6 stars!
So unless you cast more good vibes over this… Or something else – I just saw the perfect XML feed – all the rules and filters seem to be working!! ?? ?? ??
How did you do that! – Did you find any errors in my settings?
Otherwise I am ready to fly!!
If only everybody’s else support was a good and fast as yours!!
Lot’s of good karma and love to you and your team – (This is how you get PRO users that are loyale!)All my best
Netz
Hi,
We are not able to make any changes to your feed configuration so you must have achieved this yourselves ??
Good to hear all is working now. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us again whenever you need our support.
Hi Magic Support!
I am so happy it all turned out – Your team made a fab plugin!I moved everything to my main site and uploaded the new feed to Merc. Center — All came out green!!
A final question before we closed this magic issue…
Is it possible to use a “*” in a “Find & replace”?Like “Main Image” Find & Replace /wp-content/2024/* then Main Image /images/
And just to give you some magic feedback:
I think I started with creating my first feed was a mistake “Google Promo” on my STAGGY1023 site
Then I created a Google Shopping site and see here how that looked:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DB2lmt4JwvgRau_zShVi-jFKTuxqhB_c/view?usp=drivesdk
When I created a NEW install on my “Master” site (original)
It looked a lot better (see fields)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P1GVHLHm53_512xL_6lrZYcHr2AKJFcl/view?usp=drivesdkCould be a glitch – but maybe you can re-produce it
Another thing… When I created over 9 filters and 12 rules via the “WiZard” the field chooser for “Main Image” was like 50 chr. wide. After save…I cam back and did some more but now the field chooser was only 42 chr. wide (a small css hitch) but it is there? ??
All my best
NetzHi,
Good to hear everything looks good in your merchant center!
With regards to your question: yes, you could create a find and replace rule. In your case it will look like this: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/5lfed0l7ozjkfn1jka76c/Screenshot-2023-10-19-at-09.14.13.png?rlkey=yjjid3aselcx1xow8r34oxzqt&dl=0
Your remark with regards to the field names having g: in front of it: this is because that is also how Google requires them to end up in the feed so this is done intentionally. You’ll find that after the initial set-up of your feed they change into the g: versions.
Hi
Cool… But what happens to the /month in numbers/ “/01/” or [/n/]
Will that put the path to /images/01/
/images/[n]/ ??
Or will it completely remove the path /wp-content/2024/01/
and next month /wp-content/2024/02/ and so on…?
So all future uploaded pictures into the “n” (month) will be replaced to the target url: /images/
Sorry I am not really good to figure out search terms and vars… ??
I want to have the target URL always to be in one folder /imagesBut the original pictures are being uploaded to wordpress media folders with /year/month/
All my best
NetzI just tested it on my stag server: ??
If I use /wp-content/2022/
The target gets the month (that was after the /2022/ –> “/images/06/”If I use an * /2022/* then the rule is ignored
??
So I have to add all the month for min a year ahead
