• The language setting of the wordpress site is English, the backend administrator’s profile is set to Chinese, and the email notification to the customer when changing the WooCommerce order status is displayed in Chinese. How to send the email notification of WooCommerce in the default language of English?

    Hi @cnnewin ,

I see that you want to send WooCommerce email notifications in English instead of Chinese. To fix this, you’ll need to ensure that the site language is set to English in the WordPress settings.

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Go to your WordPress dashboard, then to ‘Settings’ > ‘General’.
    2. Look for the ‘Site Language’ option and choose ‘English’ from the dropdown menu.
    3. Save your changes.

Even with your admin profile set to Chinese, this should make sure emails go out in English. If it’s still not working, there might be a plugin or code affecting the language settings. In this case, try disabling any translation plugins or custom code to see if that helps. Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps.

    Thank you very much @reynierc

Site A is 2 years old. My processing steps are as follows:

    1. WordPress dashboard, then to ‘Settings’ > ‘General’. Set English
    2. Admin profile language is set to Chinese
    3. Disable plugins, keep woocommerce plugin
    4. Enable the theme that comes with wordpress,
    5. The website environment uses automatic theme + woocommerce plugin, test woocommerce orders, change order status, and the email notification received contains Chinese characters
    6. The administrator profile language is set to site default, test change order status, and the email received is in English.

Conclusion: The characters in the notification sent by email will change according to the administrator profile language, not the language set by the website.

In order to verify whether it is a site problem, I rebuilt a new website B, the website environment uses automatic theme + woocommerce plugin, test orders, and after testing, the above problems have not occurred for the time being.

After deleting the plugin language file of site A and updating the language file, the above problems still exist and the problem has not been found.
