    Thanks esmi –

I did that – and it shows gracie everywhere except that particular url. The username cannot be changed apparently.

i was doing this by changing the names in the data base and it did not work for me, what i would suggest is create an user account under the role of Author, and then change the Author of these posts in the to the user you created which you want to show.. Edit the already posted posts and scroll down and you should see a drop down menu where you can select the Author, only after you created this new user.. please let me know if that works for you! it did for me

My bad. I hadn’t realised that you were referring to your author page’s url. Unfortunately the url is based on your login username and can’t be changed.

esmi, but it can. when you are creating a Post, or Editing one. if you scroll down in the Edit page page… there is an option to choose the Author of that post or page.. if he creates a user with the role of Author, that name will appear in that list. which when updated, will change how he wants.

Yes – but that does depend upon creating a new user. My point is that, once a username is registered on the blog, the name cannot be changed in the author url.

yes youre right, its not ideal to create a user for the purpose of changing the username in the author url, but its the only way he could do it without reinstalling, at least that i know of.
esmi rocks the wordperss help forums!

I don’t know of any other way either – though I would discount the possibility of there being a plugin out there that might help.

And I don’t know about the “rocks” bit either – I get terribly seasick on a pond. ??

seasick and “rocking” are way different, i think youll do fine as you rock the BOAT! lol
