Change the word limit on a post

There is no limit imposed by the WP (as far as I know).

There may be a plugin you are using doing it. to limit the words?

To find out, deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
