• I could be considered a confounded nuisance and that I can understand however, don’t want to be a nuisance and am keen to learn so if you can and are willing to help me I will be very grateful and if not, I will understand.
Problem. I want to change the theme I am currently using on my web site https://ifieldparish.org to one called Longevity. I have got so far and prepared the new theme but do not know how to activate it so it shows up on line and replaces my old one. I have found a “Change” button at the top of the dash board but am not sure whether I should click that or what to do.
I know its a matter of learning WP and if I don’t know what I am doing I could well ruin my existing site and all that, but if no one will help me, how am I going to learn so, help please.

    Hi Michael,
Thank you for your response, much appreciated. As you say, the site is using Longevity which is fine however, it looks to me that in my dashboard I still have all the settings for the Charis theme which was the one I was using originally. I have downloaded Longevity on my computer but must confess, I am quite confused as I would like to make some alterations to the header layout of Longevity e.g., move “Parish Pictures to a more centre position but how to do that is another problem.

Thank you for your last reply Michael. I have printed the item you sent the link for and will sit and digest. Unfortunately, I have yet to find out where to find responses I receive from those trying to my requests for help. No doubt, if you have been using WP regularly, it all comes easy but to a novice it is a nightmare. I just wish WP would consider the not so clever users, it would make life a lot easier. Perhaps they don’t want us to use it at all?
    Best wishes,
