Change Theme Name In All Markup

So I am looking to change my theme name in all aspects of the site, I have tried a few different ways one including opening the theme in Dreamweaver and changing all instances of the theme name with a find and replace, and then also change the folder name to match, It seems to cause multiple issues? Is there an easier way to accomplish this?
