    Hi:

Do you need to change the slug or the text on the screen? To change the slug, see the first item on this page: https://getawesomesupport.com/documentation/awesome-support/admin-wp-config-options/

To change the text, you would need to use the WordPress translation functions and create a WP translation file in your language.

    Thanks.
PS: What kind of quotes are you using the ticketing system for? I would be very curious about your use case.

I don’t want to change the language, I just want to use the word “Quote” instead of “Ticket”

Can you please let me know, how can I change it to “Quote” from “Ticket”

    Hi:

There’s no way to change “quote” to “ticket” without modifying your language file to replace all instances of “ticket” with the word “quote”.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Could you please tell me how to/where to modify the language file?

    Hi:

All the language files are located in the languages folder. You would need to make the changes to the .po language file for the language you’re using and the compile the new file down to the .mo file (which is the one that WP reads).

    What language are you using?

    Thanks.

I am using English as a language. I just wanted to use “Quote” instead of “Ticket”..

Like “Submit Ticket” will be “Submit Quote”
My Tickets will be My Quotes
All Ticket will be changed to Quote.

    Hi:

The core product doesn’t have an “english” language file you can change since the default messages are already in English. But, here’s a link to an english PO file: https://awesome-support-public-files.s3.amazonaws.com/awesome-support-en_US.po

You can download it, edit it to change the terms you need and then compile it to a .MO file format. To do that you’ll need to use a tool like POEDITOR.

Once you have the .MO file, you can place it in your LANGUAGES folder.

    Thanks.

    Hello:

The easiest way to change the words to what you want is to use the translation functions as described previously. Otherwise, you will have to edit the php source code directly – which will then be overwritten on the next update anyway.

    Thanks.

Can you please tell me, exactly which terms I have to edit in the PO file which you given as a link. And how to compile it as a MO file format.

    Hello:

You would have to search through the PO file with any text editor looking for the terms you want to change. So you would search for “ticket” for example and change that to “Quote”.

To compile a PO file down to an MO file you need a compilation tool. We use POEDIT (https://poedit.net/). You can contact them for help on using that tool. ( There are other tools out there that will do the same thing if you don’t like that one. A google search can lead you to other ones. )

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I have changed the words “Ticket” to “Quote” and compile it to MO File format and place it in the language folder. But it did not worked. Is there anything else I need to do for the change?

    Hi:

That’s all you should need as long as your WordPress language is set to US English and the file is called languages/awesome-support-en_US.mo

    Thanks.

WordPress language was set to US English from before. But it did not worked.

I think the edit was not correct in this case.
Could you please tell me what kind of areas I should edit in the PO language file?

    Hi:

I’m not sure what you mean. Its a text file with lots of places where the word “ticket” appears so unfortunately I can’t list all of them here. However, you should only be editing the msgstr items, not the msgid items.

    Thanks.
