Change type of default avatar icon in shortcode

Great plugin, thanks! Is there any way to change the type of default avatar used on a shortcode basis? I’d like to have a custom avatar type but only reference it via shortcode, not have it be the global new default avatar. Possible? Very curious. Cheers.
