change url from www. (mydomain).com/wp to just www. (mydomain).com

I’m a noob here. I’m developing a website for the first time. Whenever I go to my website www.(mydomain).com, it will show a wp folder and my real website (all the designs and stuff) will be shown once I click on that one/. How would I change it so that once they click on the website itself,. everything that I intend to show will be really shown? Thanks in advance
