change url on dev to live site on same host

Currently about to redevelop my site https://www.birdonthehand.co.uk in WordPress.
Obviously need to leave a live site running.
I have https://www.birdonthehand.com also which is not used.If I develop on https://www.birdonthehand.com can I use search and replace to complete the process of changing the url to https://www.birdonthehand.co.uk
Do you know if there is anything else that would need altered?
