• Hi! A couple of years ago I created my WordPress in a subdirectory, so my address was eatandlovemadrid.es/wordpress. Now I have followed the steps to change the url to the main domain (eatandlovemadrid.es), keeping the files inside /wordpress, copying index.php and .htaccess to root and changing “site url” to eatandlovemadrid.es while keeping “wordpress url” like eatandlovemadrid.es/wordpress.

Now all the urls are showing as I want, and if I type the old url it redirects automatically to the new (I didn’t put any 301 redirect on .htaccess, but if I type eatandlovemadrid/wordpress/x it directly goes to eatandlovemadrid.es/x).

In terms of SEO, it will be everything ok? I have to do something more to assure that I will keeep the positioning of the old urls?

No one can tell me if it’s everything ok or having done the steps of “Giving WordPress its own directory” or I have to do something more regarding the posts I already have in the website to avoid SEO problems? It’s a quite easy question…
