    Hi there,

If I submit a job listing and register at the same time on the job submission form I am given the role “employer”

If I pre-register on the site as normal then I am given the user role of “customer”.

However if I later choose to submit a job listing as a registered user my role does not change.

    Should it? Can it?

    All help appreciated.

    Any assistance here guys?

Try changing your default WordPress settings. Under settings > General > Change to ‘Employer’. Does that work?

Hi and thanks for the suggestion.

I’m afraid that doesn’t work because that would result in ALL users being “employers”.

I need ordinary registered users to be “customers” and users with listings to be “employers”

I understand. Well since the registration page is essentially Woocommerce controlled. I don’t know how the system could know which type of role you were wanting. There would have to be a menu selection customized. ‘Register as Employer’ or ‘Register as a customer’. Maybe another community memeber has a suggestion that would work for this (or plugin solution).

Well the registration page is controlled by WooCommerce in MY case but it might not be in another situation where WP Job Manager is in use. The fact is that there is provision made in WP Job Manager to create a user with the “employer” role in the event that the user is also creating an account during the submission process.

There is no provision made to change an existing user’s role. It’s a WPJM issue.

Anyway thanks for your help. It’s greatly appreciated.

    Hey!

Sorry for the late reply! I answered to the email you sent us and we can continue with our communication there. Thanks!

    Hey @davor.altman

I just came up to the exact issue as @brianyhearne is describing above.

Would you be able to let me know if there is a solution for this?

    Many thanks
