Change username or nickname

    Hi.

    An admin and a user can’t change that user’s nickname or username.

    I found a solution to this but it doesn’t work for me. The solution is to add the field ‘username’ to the profile form.

    But I can only see the username in visualization mode. I can’t see it in edit mode.

    What should I do to be able to edit the username?

    Thanks a lot for your very quick answer!

    I did that and it worked. What I was doing different is that I wanted the “user name” to be changed rather than the “nickname”. But I think this is ok for me.

    No worries, username is a totally different ballgame; for some weird reason WordPress (not Ultimate Member) makes it extremely difficult.

    A plugin I’ve used before is https://en-au.www.ads-software.com/plugins/username-changer/.

    From memory, it requires dashboard access so might not meet your full needs (letting users change usernames unless of course you allow members dashboard access) but could be a partial solution e.g. set up a form for users to request a change and then admin, if approves, changes it.

    Yes, I saw that plugin. But that adds additional problems and I think I can live with having only the nickname changed, jeje.

    Do you know other stuff about Ultimate Member?
