Changed email associated with my wordpress account now cant log in

  • OK so bear with me
    I was setting up Google analytics and when I logged into Mysites it pulled up an old abandoned blog (instead of my site) both of which apparently were tied to my wordpress account. So I went to my dashboard, changed the email address in my profile, confirmed it, before deleting the old wordpress blog. Now when I try to log into wordpress it says there is no account associated with the new confirmed email. Is there a delay before it takes effect or am I screwed?

    is the website you are concerned with created in WordPress.com or SELF-HOSTED (using a webhosting company i.e. godaddy, hostgator, bluehost etc)

    -for self-hosted sites – the email address associated with each user is in a database table and can be managed and modified as needed in your webhosting vendor account.

    -for WordPress.com sites, contact https://wordpress.com/support/
