• Hi,

I work with a group of people, and several people run several different things.

I run our WordPress updates, but another person runs our Facebook. The WordPress updates are automatically posted to Facebook.

Thing is, we had a slight security issue and had to change our Facebook password. I do not have this password, and the person running the Facebook is not wanting to give it out at all.

Think is, WPBook is no longer auto-posting, and the error given seems to indicate that the password change is the issue.

My question is, I have found nowhere in the settings for us to type a new password or anything. Is the only solution to revert back to the old password, which recall, was changed for security reasons?

Or is this a different issue entirely?

    Thank you for any assistance.

    Got the error message:

Caught exception in stream publish for user: Error validating access token: Session does not match current stored session. This may be because the user changed the password since the time the session was created or Facebook has changed the session for security reasons.Error code: 0

sounds like you do indeed need the Facebook password.

I was curious about this so I downloaded and installed the plugin. This should get you back up and running in no time.

From your WordPress Dashboard click “Settings” and within settings you should see “WPBook”. When you click Wpbook it will bring up the screen where you can configure the plugin.

Once you get on this page, you should be able to take it from there.

Regarding your co-worker not wanting to give you the application. Just escalate it to higher management and ask them what they want you to do about it. I can see why they want to be careful with the password, but it’s not like you’re keeping it unsecured.

It’s really a simple issue. Do they want this functionality or not.

    Hope all this helps!
    Have a great one!

I’m just curious, can you post a link that shows how this app is supposed to work when you get done? I’m considering using it.

    Thanks!

I googled the error and it seems that changing the password invalidated the access code, which means that I need to get a new access code and grant permissions and all that all over again.

Luckily I can do this by having her log in and I can just tweak everything from there, so it keeps everyone happy.

This should indeed be a simple “I need the password so please let me have it” issue, but it’s all just politics that I have to get around.

    Thanks all for the help.
