• I have had this issue for some time now and don’t seem to be making much progress. Someone please help!

I created a website https://www.reflectdreamlive.com through a hosting and online website community Wealthy Affiliate. They were very good however I no longer required their service to it’s full extent and cancelled my membership to save money on hosting. The problem is, everything I did when building my website was via a link within Wealthy Affiliate. The link directed to a wordpress login whereby I would log into my site dashboard and edit the site. Since cancelling my subscription I have moved the hosting services to ipage and changed the DNS settings. At this point I learned that I would need to download my site files and upload them to the ipage server to begin editing my site again. Trouble is I can’t access or find my files or my website! If I type the url into the browser it comes up with an error. I have contacted Wealthy Affiliate and they have said I can access the site files and site again if I was to re-subscribe. They also said I still have access to the wordpress sites but offered no further information despite my requests.

I have attempted to log into the site admin using wordpress.com and www.ads-software.com site log in options but the username and password I was using previously to gain entry to my site dashboard doen’t work.

I am at a loss and have no idea what to do or where my website has gone. I messaged support at wordpress.com and they have not got back to me either.

    Can anybody help me please?

    Kind Regards,
    Damien.

  • if you can still get into your old wordpress website then you can backup all the files and database to make the move if they allow you to install plugins.

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-easy-backup/

if you can not install a plugin on your old site

do a normal wordpress export from the tools menu

then import the file into your new wordpress website
    on import click import media
it should copy most if not all of your stuff.

If they are not giving you access, there is nothing much that we can do.
You can request them to give access to FTP to download a backup, or ask them to generate a backup for you.

    Thank you for your help.

Jumbo clicks; Unfortunately I can’t get into my old website as yet. This is where half the trouble lies. If I ever get into it I will certainly follow your advice to back up. Thank you.

Dinsan; Wealthy Affiliate has since replied to my request for help and advised me that they gave reasonable time for me to make the switch. This is correct, however unfortunately I was not able to do it within the time they allocated. They advised that the website may have been deleted from their server which I guess sadly means I need to start over. None the less, I have given it one last hopeful shot and asked if there was anychance they may be able to generate a back up for me (if the site still exists).

Thanks again for your responses. It is greatly appreciated.
