• Hi all,
I’m a total WP newbie and got in over my head with this one…

I edited the site URL by mistake and then had to fix it following the wp-admin.php and functions.php files as described here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL

Now, the main page of my site is up and running but the other pages are not.
See: https://merrybluesart.com and try going to: order, contact, etc pages.

Like I said, I’m a complete newbie and any attempt to understand where to start and not mess it up further is futile. I have no idea how to solve something that probably only requires a simple fix (I’m guessing).

If any of you could be so kind as to tell me exactly what I need to do in what file/folder I would be so thankful.

    cheers,
    Ana

  • Did you reset urls as you had before you made the mistake as it is giving a 500 error so there some misconfiguration problem on server.

    thanks for your reply!

yes, I believe the URLS are reset to https://merrybluesart.com. I edited the wp-admin.php as per the directions from the link above and it says: “This is not necessarily the best fix, it’s just hardcoding the values into the site itself. You won’t be able to edit them on the General settings page anymore when using this method”

What area of WP or php file should I edit in order to reset the URL?

looks like you edited wrong file there no where it tells you to edit wp-admin.php you nean wp-config.php

if you made ant changes in wp-admin.php you need to replace that file with a new file.

I’m sorry, I made a mistake in the post. I re-checked the files I edited and it was indeed wp-config.php, NOT wp-admin.php.

How can I get my other pages to display? Which file needs to be edited and how?

Again, any help is much appreciated.

    best,
    Ana

One idea may be to reset your permalinks. Save them to default and test your site
