• I was trying out different theme templates in my main blog, a WordPress 2.0 installation.

I changed themes, and BAM, I got this error:

“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare writeabout() (previously declared in /home/my-domain/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/regulus_wordpress_theme/functions.php:61) in /home/my-domain/public_html/blog/wp-content/themes/regulus_wordpress_theme/functions.php on line 59”

How can I get it going again without losing my data?

If I can reload the WP 2 files – maybe even the latest one with bugfixes and keep the data and settings intact, that would be awesome! The site has a PR4 with Big G and I’d hate to stuff that up with them.

    Thanks anyone,
    Gedanate.

  • First, move the file functions.php to something like functions.php.bak and re-create functions.php as just an empty file.

    Try then to login to

    https://yoursite/wp-admin

and see if you can set your theme back to something like ‘default’ or ‘classic’.
