Changed URL and now cannot login

You’ll need to change the siteurl and home values in the database back to what they were before following this guide: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/changing-the-site-url/#changing-the-url-directly-in-the-database

You’ll find phpMyAdmin for that in your hosting account’s control panel.

Once that’s done, you’ll want to start by changing your domain’s name servers to point to your hosting provider (consult their documentation for details), then follow this guide to properly move WordPress: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/moving-wordpress/#changing-your-domain-name-and-urls

Once you recover you can point the domain you have at your self hosted site but that port number is always going to need to be amended to the site unless you can deal with that by changing the port number on the server or possibly routing the domain to your IP and mapping it further there in your router.

It will always be a kludge though… especially if your IP is dynamic.
