Changed url's in settings now I have problems

Hi, I finished editing my pages and wanted to make it so my site url (ricksrepairs.co.uk) went straight to the wp site. So I changed both “wordpress address” and “site address” to https://ricksrepairs.co.uk/” in ‘general settings’ and then I couldn’t access my site or the wp-admin panel. I used PHPmyAdmin to put both back to https://ricksrepairs.co.uk/wp/” and that gave me access to the wp-admin panel and my work but when I try to view my work it says ‘Error establishing a database connection’ I am totally lost and am worried that I may have messed up some files and the database whilst trying to fix it? I used a video tutorial to set up my database and build the site as I have never done this before. Can it be fixed or should I start again? Thanks in advance.
