    Hi There,

Over the weekend I was forced to move host as they took down my website without telling me because they kept saying my sql db was locking their server.

I didn’t follow the WP method but I just downloaded all my WP files….exported the DB. At my new host I just did the reverse. Imported my tables and uploaded my files after updating wp-config.php.

So far everthing seems to be working fine.

I know that isn’t method that I probably should have used but I just wanted to check that doing what I did won’t have left me with any security holes?!?!

    Thanks

truth to tell – 90% of us that know what’s going on do it that way :>)

Yeah, when you know what you’re doing, you can always skip a step here and another step there. The important thing is to know what risks, if any, that you’re taking, and then take responsibility for the outcome.

Thanks samboll and I’ll definitely check out that document!

Thanks Gappiah too for the input. I just wasn’t 100% sure but thought I’d ask to get some clarification!
