Accidentally, I changed the WordPress address in the General settings of my WordPress site. It was “/blog” before and I changed it to “/dpt” just to see what would happen. Something went wrong. Now, whenever you go to my website (hc-mf.com/blog) the site comes up like it was typed in basic HTML and I can’t login to my WordPress site via /wp-admin… can someone please help? I’ve been trying everything and nothing’s working, I can’t even get to my own login screen.

What if I don’t have a wp-config.php file? I didn’t make the site with an FTP server, I used my hosting website and SimpleScripts to get the site done.

If you do not have wp-config.php your WordPress site will not function. So, carefully read the instructions suggested by Esmi, and change your site URL. That is the only way.

Well, where can I find my wp-config file? Because I’ve never saved one to my computer or anything of the sort. And I’ve never seen anything with wp-config.php on my WordPress admin page. I’ll re-read the instructions, but if anyone has any other solution, please help me get this resolved!

I think i had the same problem as you

what i did was followed this video

and then i also called my web hoster/ domain name people. and they help me fix it too.

now my site does not go into ——-.com/site it just goes to —–.com
and it doesn’t change to /site.

    What if I don’t have a wp-config.php file?…
…Well, where can I find my wp-config file?

It should be located in the same folder with your wordpress files. That should probably be the folder named “blog” in this case.

You also seem to have done something to set up an infinite loop of 301 redirects at hc-mf.com, so not even your root domain/site will open at present.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I have not much experience with WordPress.. It was an accidental change that I made to the website that I had no intention of doing, and now I can’t even access my admin page and my website can’t be viewed?? I do NOT have a wp-config.php file.

I do NOT have phpMyAdmin because I did all of my WordPress things from my hosting plan on my hosting site [domain.com] which I’m seriously regretting now. I just need help, really bad because now I just want to edit my website… PLEASE help me.

You wasted a lot of time.
Do you have a lot of content/ posts? Or is it a fresh site?
If you can give clear answers, and do what you are required to do, you can solve the problem immediately. OK?

    @krishna

Pretty much all the content I had was an About page, a “Coming Soon” post, and some bbPress stuff that pretty much also said, “Coming Soon”.

All of the instructions you need are in the page at the link I posted above. The page includes 4 separate & different methods for fixing your urls. I would recommend using Method 2 – the functions.php approach.
