changes in version 2.0 register form

  • We had a register form, that we used to let a member register another person, sometimes he is even a dead person or a very old one that does not have email or internet but we want them to be part of the community, now after upgrading to version 2.0 a member cannot use this form because “he is already registered”

    Hi @rubenzilzer,

    Can you please clarify what do you mean by “form that we used to let a member register another person”? If you are logged in as a member it is not possible to “register another person”. Can you please give us more information about the form you are referring to.

    Well, in version 1.3.88 it is possible and we use it!
    The site is a repository of a specific existent community of people,
    We created a role “registered” in UM with his data, and a role “member” with more privileges like comments or view specific pages and do specific actions.

    Green members have full privileges, yellow members are only registered (maybe they very old or don’t have email etc.) and black members are deceased,
    A standard member can “register” another person (of course this is moderated) if the person is alive and has email, he will receive a notification too, and can request to be a full member.
    The thing is that to “register’ somebody to the UM community we have to create a WP user.
    In version 1.3 there is no problem. It works nice but in version 2 as you said: it is not possible :(.
    So we are sticking to version 1.3

    Still I need a way for a registered member to register another person
    i.e we have a community of very old people and one member wants to add a friend (even older and not using a computer) to be part of the community,
    i can live with a form that creates a “pending autorization” member that an administrator can aprove.
