Changes in version 1.0.0
-
We are pleased to announce the release of Spectra One version 1.0.0 with some significant changes. Version 1.0.0 Is a pretty big change compared to all other updates till now. We have tried to cover many things that an FSE user will need while building a website.
Due to drastic changes in this update, your website may look broken after the update. As a result, we’ve done our best to provide solutions to any issues that may arise following the update.
Question: Default Images look broken/replaced after the update, What to do now?
Answer: As we have updated all the patterns in this update, we have deprecated/removed some images from our codebase. So things can go two ways. It may be just replaced with updated images or the link to the image may come up as broken.
To rectify this you can follow these steps
- Download this zip: https://d.pr/f/b6CAEu, This contains all our old assets used.
- Go into the editor in the backend: https://d.pr/i/K19SrA ( WP-admin -> Appearance -> Editor )
- Go to your template in which the broken/replaced image exists. In this example we will be looking at the home page: https://d.pr/i/psvKXO
- Now go to the image and just replace it with the appropriate image from the zip provided in the step-1: https://d.pr/i/IBnB7k
Question: My site title, hide footer, hide footer, etc options have been reset, What to do now?
Answer: To follow WordPress standards, we needed to private these values, So due to this change all values added for a single post/page will be reset this time. You can simply just set these options back and things will work as expected. (This is a one-time change and will not happen in the future)
To rectify this you can do the? following:
In this example, we will assume that the header was hidden using this option. So you can simply go to that page/post and just set that option again-? https://d.pr/i/UsdCUk?
Similarly we can do the same for following options- https://d.pr/i/gYbddc?
Question: Why can’t I see the new patterns/changes from this update? What to do now?
Answer: WordPress has this neat feature where once you save your changes it basically caches the current template. Now this feature is good in one way as even if the patterns change it will still keep the old design and your changes intact. But the only downside is that you won’t be able to see the new changes in the template till you clear the cache. This can be easily done by clicking on this- https://d.pr/i/fYRAcd
You can even do the same from here too- https://d.pr/i/U8DTZ7 / https://d.pr/i/QyhehM – but keep one thing in mind that you won’t be able to revert things back and you will lose all your current changes.?
