Changes to quicktags.js are being ignored

    I am using WP 2.8.4. I have edited the /wp-includes/js/quicktags.js file to add a couple of buttons to the HTML editor and to change the text inserted with the default blocktext button. After upgrading to 2.8.4 those changes are now longer seen.

    This was working without problem for me until this upgrade (upgraded from 2.8.2).

    As part of my troubleshooting, I have deleted the quicktags.js file completely, and I still get a row of default buttons across the editor, as well as the buttons for my plugins. I have de-activated all my plugins, and still get the row of default buttons.

    Anyone have any idea as to why I’m seeing this behavior and how I can change it?
