    Hello – I just installed this plugin and activated it. I modified some of the settings, such as adding a header, and changing the size of the text. I clicked on Save. But after the page refreshes, the changes go back to the default.

  • Hi suchipsa, as i can not reproduce this – lets start with confirming that it is a global problem.

    There is a WP instance, please try to reproduce the problem there.

    If you can reproduce it – would you please tell me which exact settings you are trying to modify?

    Thank you Stoil. I tried to reproduce it in the WP instance, and the Save worked. Is “Saving” a setting change only a paid feature? I am using a free version.

    I tried to modify two items – the styling size of the footnote text, from 80% to 100%, and I also added a footnote footer. And I also tried to test the “pretty tooltip” feature. I click on Save, but after the page refreshes the items reset to their default.

    That is extremely weird…

    The plugin has no paid version, so everything should work, saving included of course.

    Ok will try with your changes, it will be best if you can provide me with their exact content, as i can not think of anything else right now…

    Hi – I am not sure I understand – what you would like me to do?

    Also, I am running WP 6.3.2, in case that is relevant.

    Thank you.

    If you want an example of a change I tried to make, change Options>Styling> from

    ol.footnotes li { font-size:80%; }

    to

    ol.footnotes li { font-size:100%; }

    But it doesn’t matter WHAT I change, nothing is saved. Even something simple, like the “Show identifier as superscript” toggle on the General settings page – if I switch it off, then Save, it does not Save the new setting.

    Would you please check your php error log for anything related to “footnotes-made-easy” probably.

    I really can not think of anything that could prevent saving, so that maybe is a bug of some kind…

    Hello Stoil – The logs don’t show any errors related to ““footnotes-made-easy.” I will try switching off the plugins and turning back on one by one.

    I deactivated all plugins except for Footnotes, and I was still not able to Save any settings changes. Can you think of anything else I can try?

    Please try the following

    create some site, using some free service of your liking, change the plugin settings, export them and then try to import these modified settings to you site and lets see how that will work for you.

    Meanwhile I’ll implement some WP configuration extraction script, so you can provide me with more details about your current configuration.

    I did as you suggested – export modified settings from another site, import the file into my site. I received a message that they were imported successfully, but the imported settings were not changed or saved.

    Hello. I have decided not to try further to figure out why this plugin did not work in my environment. Thank you.
