• I just changed the tax rules under Woocommerce settings, and when I click on the invoice slip of an order placed the last two weeks I the changes there too which is fine.
For instance Total €869,00 (incl. € 173,80 TAX), here the tax amount has changed based on the changes I made in WooCommerce.

But when I click on an order placed earlier than two weeks ago, it still using the old tax info.

    All orders are completed.

So why is it only updating the newest orders instead of all? and how do I make it include older orders too?

    Hey there,

I just changed the tax rules under Woocommerce settings, and when I click on the invoice slip of an order placed the last two weeks I the changes there too which is fine.

That’s actually not good – taxes are set for each order, and shouldn’t be adjusted in hindsight. Changing the tax settings in WooCommerce only affects new orders.

I’d strongly recommend against updating older orders. This can turn into a tax compliance and accountancy problem.

That being said, the only way I know of to update taxes on past orders is to manually update the order or to update each order through the database. Either way would be time-consuming. You could potentially automate it using code – I highly recommend contacting one of the services on our customizations page: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

I agree, but for some reason it did affect old orders too. Going back about 11 days. On the invoice even the new name for tax was changed, but for orders older than that nothing was changed.

    Hey there,

That’s actually quite scary stuff – older order should not be affected. This needs to be looked at carefully, to make sure everything on your site is still okay. I’d recommend working with a developer to understand what went wrong and how to avoid it in the future.

    Hey there @zarkas6,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
