• At one time I could simply make a copy of a theme, and then rename it, and WP would pick it up and reflect the new theme folder with the new name in the Themes section where I could then enable the theme, and then assign it to the blog of my choice. However, now this does not work. Even if I delete a theme, it does not show as deleted in the WP administration panel. The WP administration panel does not seem to reflect changes in the themes folder.

Also, if I delete the header in one of the themes, and copy a changed header, it still shows the old header, although I have no idea where it gets it, since it is no longer on the server.

This is not an issue of the browser cache, the same problem persists regardless of the browser of computer I test it on. Secondly, I am not using any cache plug in of any kind.

  • I am having the same issue. Uploaded a new theme through ftp, doesn’t show up on the theme panel. I deleted some old themes just to verify and yes they are still showing up on the admin panel but not my new theme. I don’t know if it’s a cache problem or what.

Getting frustrated no help whatsoever nothing on google to fix this.

I actually found out I was pointing my FTP client to the wrong IP address, and that my host had moved my site to a different server. Check what your current IP address is with your host.
