    If you set a background color for a paragraph block the text is moved in by several characters on both the left and right side. It causes the text in blocks without a color set to no longer be in alignment with the blocks with a color set.

    Thanks for the report. Which theme are you using that exhibits this behavior? Do you have a link to a public post or page where this is happening?

    I switched back to Elementor. I tried to put a quick page together to show what I’m talking about, but I’m not sure how to get Gutenberg to come back up as an editor option.

    I’m using the OnePress theme.

    @icecool2, Ah, I see what you’re saying. I just tried it on my test site with the Twenty Seventeen theme, and it does the same thing.

    I’m guessing this is actually intentional. It would certainly look weird if paragraphs with background color didn’t have the padding, and the text ran right up to the edge of the color. I suspect this non-alignment could be addressed by a theme or with some custom CSS by adding the same amount of padding to paragraphs that don’t have a background color.
