Changing circile icons to images

The circle icon widget does give you the option to set the background image of the circle. If you do this and set the icon to none, it should give you what you’re after.

I did that initially, but my image was displaying behind the gray circle. Is there a way to hide the circle?

I am looking to use the Cicle Icons from the Circle Icon Widget on other widgets. Is this possible? Do I just need to copy the code of the widget and place in a text widget?
