Changing color of “Like” text in comments

You can modify it via CSS. ??

Try:

a.comment-like-link {
    color: #999;
}

and adjust the color as desired.

That’s already in the CSS, so nope.

Ok, try:

a.comment-like-link {
    color: #999 !important;
}

Also tried that but doesn’t work either.

Is the site where you tried your solution not reading an external CSS for this?

Are you sure that your site’s cache is clearing to include the new child theme CSS?

Maybe try that, or try adding it via Additional CSS in the Customizer instead.

The only difference I can see is a lack of a space, though I don’t think that would cause any problem.

You have:

a.comment-like-link{
    color: #aaaaaa !important;
}

I have:

a.comment-like-link {
    color: #999 !important;
}

If adding that space makes no difference, what is the name of the theme you’re using?
