Hi, in advance: I’m sorry if this question has been posted before. I’ve searched the forums, and did not find a suitable answer. The question seems pretty simple, but I’m unable to solve this by myself so that’s why I’m reaching out.

My website uses WPML, and has 7 languages. I’m trying to translate a string on the “lost-password” page. WPML only lets me edit translations, and because Woocommerce core itself is English it doesn’t see the English language as a translation.

A Woocommerce support chat employee told me to contact WPML. However, I don’t think they can provide me with any help as it seems Woocommerce related to me. I’ve also found this article stating the same: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translate-woocommerce-original-string-for-non-existing-variations/

He also showed me the documentation for localization (https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-localization/) which I am very familiar with. I know how .pot and .po / .mo files work, and I often translate them using PoEdit.

I’ve created a new .po/.mo file from the /i18n/languages/ folder and have put them in the /languages/plugins/ folder. I’ve tried naming them as woocommerce.po/woocommerce.mo & woocommerce-en_EN.po/woocommerce-en_EN.mo but the changes do not apply.

How do I change the Woocommerce text “Lost your password? Please enter your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email.” on the lost-password page?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
