• Hi, the plugin is great for easily changing my media file names but this also results in changing the file’s title. When I try to delete the title and leave it blank, the name comes back after saving changes.
The only way to delete the title is by looking for the media file through the actual post instead of the media library and deleting it from there.
Is there any easier way to leave the title blank when changing the file name?

    Hi @yehudits,
sorry for my late reply, I’ve been very busy in the past weeks.

You have two options: “rename” and “rename and retitle”, so you can use “rename” to change only file name.

I never thinked about leaving an empty title, I’ll check if WordPress let me set an empty title, if this is possible I’ll release an update.

    Thank you for your feedback

    Hi @yehudits,
WordPress doesn’t support empty title for media file, if you delete the title WordPress will use the file name as title.

You can try disabling Phoenix Media Rename to see that this is the standard WordPress management, I can’t change this.

Just a simple curiosity: why do you need an empty title?

Hey, thank you so much for looking into it!
That’s actually really strange. I’ve been deleting all of my photo titles manually and they’ve stayed that way with no problem.
I do this because I don’t like the title text popping up when hovering over the photos on desktop. Alt text or descriptions don’t show up – only the title text.
There’s probably some other way to change this feature but I’ve found that deleting the title solves my problem easily.
    Thanks again!
