• With the old editor the editing menu included the ability to change font size and type.
Using the new block editor I can’t find a way to do that. Am I missing something?

Also is there an easy way to change line spacing? I have a header followed by content and I’d like it to have regular line spacing, not a big vertical gap.

    Hey,
All your fonts can be preset from Theme Options > Typography. The paragraph block will pull from your body font settings, but the block does allow you to set certain settings including the line height and font size. There is also the Advanced Heading block from Kadence Blocks. That will give you a lot more control over your fonts right from the editor.
    I hope that’s helpful!

Thanks, I will try the advanced heading block. But I still don’t see where, with a regular block, how to set line height and font size.

What version of WordPress are you running?

5.4.2 which my web host (ionos, f/k/a 1&1) says is the most recent.

I can’t figure out how the paragraph block allows me to change font size. The advanced heading block only does headers, not regular text.

Be sure that your cache has been cleared. See here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/paragraph-block/#typography
Let me know if those settings don’t show for you.

Cleared the cache but those settings do not show for me.

Maybe there’s a setting I’m missing or somewhere to click?

This is what my screen looks like:

I tried clicking on various settings on the right but I couldn’t find any typeface layout menus or options.

Your screenshot shows a classic editor block. Try using the Paragraph block instead.

Thanks. I see now that if I make it a paragraph block I can adjust text size on the right, but not typeface.

I appresiate that this is not the correct way to get information but I cannot see how you log a support issue

I don’t know that specifically but I think the best way to ask a new question is to click on ‘+create topic’ instead of commenting on an existing topic that’s on a different matter.

Sorry, doing some more research on this it seems that line-height for the paragraph block is something that will be added in the future. But as of now there isn’t a functionality for it. But you should see the option to adjust the font size. Does that show for you?

    @hollyandtheivybhx
What product would you like support on? You can scroll to the button of any forum and you’ll see a “Create a new topic” form.

Thanks Hannah. Yes, for paragraph blocks I do see font size.

When you say that line height will be added in the future- is that for this theme specifically or is it something common to all themes that has to be added by the WordPress people?

    Hey,
The line height is coming in later versions of WordPress Core. It’s not related to the theme. Look for it in WP 5.5

It looks like you were adding this plugin which gives you font family support: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/tinymce-advanced/

That currently isn’t an option in Core, Kadence Blocks likely will add an option for that soon.

I have that plugin but I don’t know how to use it or get the font info to show up. I had some links I wanted to underline and I had to change to classic paragraph block just to get control U to work.
