I am using the Edin theme at WP Engine, and would like to know if there is a straightforward way to change the font, so that I can use Adobe Cason Pro from Adobe Typekit.

I see that PT Sans is the default font coming from Google, and that is may be woven into the CSS. I’m hoping there is a way to change it without having to dig in change chage each instance where it appears.

When I used this theme on WordPress.com, there was a Custom Design option, which I’m wondering if it is only available on WordPress.com.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • This can be done using a custom css plugin and yes, you will probably need to change it in multiple places but that isn’t too hard with firebug/chrome developer tools (I’m not sure about Firebug, but Chrome has a search function where you can search for whatever – when I do this I usually search for ‘font-family’)

    Hi there,

The built-in custom fonts feature you saw on WordPress.com isn’t a part of WordPress itself, so you’ll need to use another method to add your own fonts to your theme. In addition to what @fevered recommended, I’d suggest looking at the Playing with Fonts guide in the www.ads-software.com Codex for more details about your options.
